The Kuwait Clearing Company (KCC) was established in 1982 and has its headquarters in Kuwait.
The primary function of the company is to operate a settlement and clearing system for the shares of companies listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange. The company also opens accounts in the stock market on behalf of traders.
The Kuwait Clearing Company (KCC) is the authorised body appointed by the Kuwait Stock Exchange to act as the clearing chamber in the exchange. KCC is entitled to settle obligations arising from transactions registered on the exchange by defining the financial status of both parties involved in the deal, and making clearance between rights and commitments (debits and credits) between each other. KCC, thus, plays an important role in the smooth functioning of the system, by underwriting the liquidity of the market.
